However, the nation has an abundance of wild plants that can hold up against dryness and winter season cold. It also has great deals of jatropha curcas trees, whose seeds have abundant amounts of an oil considered to hold fantastic guarantee as a biofuel. The objective of this task is to utilize these resources to establish jatropha curcas ranges that are resistant to and cold weather condition and offer high efficiency, in addition to to develop techniques of cultivating these ranges.
In this method, a biological method will assist to achieve a low carbon society.
Creating a bioenergy production design based upon the country’s own biological resources
A database of biological resource information relating to Jatropha will be constructed and appropriate varieties will be developed.
Moreover, in this dry region that is subject to winter, efforts will be made to develop a growing system that is flexible with respect to climate modification. The job will work to build a sustainable bioenergy production design utilizing plant hereditary resources that are indigenous to Botswana.
